Effective 6 September 2026 · Beta release
Sitara is currently in beta: available to invited testers only, not yet published on
Google Play, and free to use. These terms cover the beta. We will update them when Sitara is
published, and tell you in the app before the updated version takes effect.
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of Sitara, a Vedic astrology application built and operated
by VishnuVaaku, an astrological practice based in Hyderabad, India ("we", "us").
By creating an account or using Sitara, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not
use the app.
2. What Sitara does
Sitara casts and displays Vedic astrological charts, tracks planetary transits, shows panchang
information, and sends notifications about astrological events you choose to follow.
Calculations are performed on our servers and delivered to your device.
3. Beta software
This is a beta release, and that has real consequences you should know before you rely on it:
-
Things may break. Features may behave incorrectly, change, or be withdrawn without
notice. - Access is by invitation. Sign-in works only for testers we have approved.
-
Keep your own copies. We take care with your data and we back it up, but during the
beta you should not treat Sitara as the only place your charts exist. You can export them
from within the app at any time, and we recommend you do. - It is free, and there is nothing to buy — see section 5.
4. Your account
- You need a Google account to sign in. One Sitara account is tied to one Google account.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure. Anyone who can sign
in as you can see your charts. - You must be 18 or older.
- You may not share, sell, or transfer your account.
5. Free trial, and no subscriptions yet
- Every new account gets a 30-day free trial, with no payment method required.
- The trial is once per Google account, ever. Reinstalling the app, using a second device,
or clearing the app's data does not start a new one. - During the trial you may save one chart.
-
There are no paid subscriptions during the beta. Nothing in the app can be purchased,
and we will not ask you for payment details. Paid plans will begin when Sitara is published
on Google Play, and we will update these terms and tell you before that happens.
6. Referral programme
- Every account has a referral code. Share it with someone who redeems it, and it credits
free days to both of you. - A code may be redeemed once per account, ever, and only while your own free trial is
still running. It is a welcome offer, not a renewal discount. - You cannot redeem your own code.
- There is a cap on the total free days one account may earn from referrals.
- Free days have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred
between accounts. - We may change, suspend or withdraw the programme at any time. Free days already credited to
your account will be honoured. - We may withhold or reverse referral credit, and suspend the account responsible, where we
reasonably believe codes are being abused — for example by creating accounts solely to
redeem them.
7. Acceptable use
You may not:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or astronomical data of
the app, except so far as that restriction is prohibited by law; - resell, sublicense, or offer Sitara's calculations as a competing service;
- use automated means to access our servers, or make requests at a volume that degrades the
service for others; - attempt to bypass entitlement checks, chart limits, or authentication;
- record another person's birth details without a lawful basis for doing so.
8. Your content
The charts you create remain yours. We claim no ownership of them and no right to use them
beyond providing the service to you. You can export them from within the app at any time.
You are responsible for the birth details you record. If they describe other people — your
clients, for instance — you are responsible for having the right to record them.
9. Astrology, and what these results are not
Sitara performs astronomical calculations and presents them according to Vedic astrological
convention. The astronomical positions are computed to a high standard. The astrological
interpretation of them is a traditional practice, not a scientifically validated method of
prediction, and we make no claim that it is.
Nothing in Sitara is medical, legal, financial or psychological advice, and it must not be
used as a substitute for a qualified professional. Please do not make decisions about your
health, your money, your relationships or your safety on the basis of this app alone.
You use the app's readings entirely at your own discretion and risk.
10. Availability and accuracy
We aim to keep Sitara available and correct, but we do not guarantee that it will be
uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate in every case — and during a beta, less so than usual.
Features may change, and we may add, alter or withdraw them.
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot
lawfully be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental,
consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profit, data or opportunity, arising from
your use of Sitara.
Sitara is free during the beta, so where liability cannot be excluded it is limited to the
amount you have paid us for it — which is nothing.
Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be
limited.
12. Suspension and termination
-
You may stop using Sitara at any time, and may delete your account from within the app
or by writing to us. -
We may suspend or end access for an account that breaches these terms, that we
reasonably believe is being used fraudulently, or where the law requires it. We may also end
the beta itself, with notice. - On deletion, your data is removed as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Intellectual property
Sitara — its software, design, name, and the astronomical data sets it distributes — is ours
and our licensors', and is protected by copyright. Your account grants you a personal,
non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app. It transfers ownership of nothing.
Sitara incorporates third-party open-source components; their licences are acknowledged within
the app.
14. Changes to these terms
Sitara is in beta, so these terms will change — most substantially when the app is published
and subscriptions begin. The date at the top will change, and for any change that materially
affects your rights we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
Continuing to use Sitara after a change means you accept the updated terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Hyderabad have
exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
